The Library Board consists of five members, appointed by the Mayor and City Council for a four-year term. Members of the Library Board must be owners of or tenants in real property in the City of Bridgeport and be qualified electors of the City.

The purpose of the Library Board is to oversee operations of the Bridgeport Public Library, including the general charge of the libary and to establish appropriate rules and regulations for the management, operations, and use of the Library.

The Library Board meets monthly (the first Tuesday of the month) at 7:00 p.m. in the Bridgeport Public Library at 722 Main Street. The official proceedings of all regular, special, and emergency meetings of the Library Board are posted online, by clicking here.
